Nick Strimple is available for performances, clinics, lectures and workshops on a variety of subjects including Holocaust music, choral music, 20th Century music, Jewish music, the music of Dvořák and other Czech composers, the aesthetics of sacred music, interfaith dialogue, and the continuing problem of genocide.
COMMISSIONS An avid composer whose recent works include Sinfonia Breve, Music for the Blue Rose, Pirke Avot, and Harpsichord Concerto, Strimple writes both original works and arrangements for chorus, voice, chamber ensemble, solo instruments, orchestra, film, television and recordings.
LITERARY WORKS
With scholarly
achievements in diverse areas, Strimple is available to write articles, books
and reviews. Recent publications include his latest book, Choral
Music in the Nineteenth Century (Amadeus Press); chapters in the new
Cambridge Companion to Choral Music (Cambridge University Press,
2012) and Franz Liszt: A Chorus of Voices (Pendragon Press,
2012); and the article “Choral Music in Theresiensatdt 1941-1944” in the
Orel Foundation Online Journal (May/2010).
